Camille Grammer Recovering From Surgery For Endometrial Cancer
Former 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star Camille was diagnosed with early stage endometrial cancer, and she is in recovery after undergoing surgery on Oct. 11.
Camille Grammer, 45, is "expected to make a complete recovery" after having a "radical hysterectomy," according to her rep, Howard Bragman, but it could take a while. Read on for more details.
Camille Grammer's Cancer Diagnosis - Former 'Housewife' Recovering From Surgery
Camille's family - including the two children she had via surrogate with ex-husband Kelsey Grammer - must be thrilled that she's okay.
"The surgery went well and she is expected to make a complete recovery - following a significant recuperation period," Howard tells magazine.
Camille was at an "elevated risk due to genetic issues," he says.
"[She] has been diligent about regular checkups and monitoring, which explains the early detection and rapid treatment," he adds. "Ms. Grammer expresses gratitude to all the amazing health care professionals who have taken such loving and nurturing care of her. She urges all women to be aware of genetic factors relating to women's cancers and get regular checkups."
Endometrial cancer is the most common cancer of the female reproductive system, with nearly 50,000 cases occuring each year in the U.S., according to Health.com. We're so glad Camille is using this opportunity to raise awareness about cancers that affect women. She's so brave!
Camille Grammer Not Returning To 'RHOBH'
After starring in the first two seasons of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Camille will not be appearing on any more episodes - but not because she's boycotting the show.
"I'm not boycotting Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," Camille told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY in March after reports claimed she and co-star Adrienne Maloof were urging potential cast members to stay clear of the show. "It's just nonsense and I never said that or have anything to do with that.
"I have all these people on Twitter yelling at me now for something I didn't even say. Oh boy. Just ridiculous."
We're glad Camille decided to sit the rest of the series out. She needs to rest and recuperate - and the last thing she needs right now is another cat fight!
